THREE companies have been shortlisted for a feasibility study into new leisure facilities planned for a North-East town.
The study will assess the mix of sports and leisure that can be accommodated in a new building at John Whitehead Park, Billingham, Teesside. It will look at costings, available funding and existing and proposed school sports provision in the area.
Representatives from the Billingham Town Centre Sub-group will take part in the shortlist interviews later this month.
Roger Black, chairman of the Billingham Regeneration Partnership Board, said: "This is real progress. As soon as the study is complete we will be able to look at a funding package for the development."
The study is expected to be completed by the autumn, and will include a public consultation exercise by the appointed consultants on their draft recommendations
