A FULL weekend of racing is on offer in the region this weekend - thanks to The Northern Echo.
The Great Daily of the North and its sister paper The Clarion, the weekly free newspaper for Redcar and east Cleveland, is sponsoring a fun-filled day at Redcar Racecourse, on Sunday.
The gates open at 11am and attractions include a funfair, performances by the National Festival Circus, Punch and Judy shows, bouncy castle, clown face painting, ball pool and a roaming entertainer.
The TFM Roadshow, with breakfast presenter Greg Upwards, will take place in the course enclosure, from 11am to 2pm. There is also a playground and a creche facility and the Carlsberg-Tetley dray horses will also attend.
A family ticket for two adults and two children can be purchased before the racing on Sunday, for just £4.50, which gains access to the course enclosure. Otherwise, there will be a nominal charge of £1 for children.
Racing on Sunday begins at 2.35pm with The TFM Roadshow Is Here Today Median Auction Maiden Stakes over nine furlongs.
The feature races are The Northern Echo Handicap Stakes, over seven furlongs, The Clarion Handicap Stakes, over a straight mile, and The Tote Credit Club Nursery Handicap Stakes, for two-year-olds, over six furlongs.
Racegoers will also have the opportunity to win £100 in Tote betting vouchers in a special racecard competition run in conjunction with The Northern Echo and The Tote.
Saturday's racing starts at 2.30pm.
