Bedale

This popular event attracts a large field and this year was no exception. The gross prize was won by Bedale pair C Harrison and P Kirby (52 points) this year's and last year's Rabbits Captains respectively. Nett prize winners with card countbacks being required to identify the placings of competitors with 47, 45 and 44 points respectively.

Top ten placing as follows: 52 points M Greenwood and M Leigh-Howarth (Bedale); 50 E Hutchinson and S Mchale (Knotty Hills), 47 r hall and L Dodsworth (Bedale/Romanby) and D Blakeney and N Upson (Scarborough North Cliff); 46 J Gibson and G Fallows (Bedale); 45 H Dawson and ER Taylor ( Bedale) and J Danby and G Weaver (Scarthingwell); 44 Holme and Moody (Catterick) and R Holmes (Bdeale); 39 K Palethorpe and P Godfrey (Bedale).

Sponsors prizewinners M Edmundson and C Asquith and D Wainwright and P Ireland. The Two club competition resulted in only two winners with a prize of 41 balls and one of the winners had two 82 balls.

May Medal

With an entry of 145 competitors and a standard scratch of 72 the best gross of the day was returned by John Webster the club's honorary treasurer. Congratulations go to Junior golfer Scott Petrie for winning the second division. The two club competition provided only two winners who each collected 40 balls.

Dales Alliance

This rearranged fixture was played this week at Bedale as the penultimate match of the spring season.

In the last three rounds the top spot has been taken by Thirsk and Northallerton, Crook, and Catterick Garrison in that order which promises an interesting climax to the first part of the Year. A close finish this week with three clubs claiming the top spot with 186 points namely Bedale, Catterick Garrison, and Richmond, followed by 183 points Thirsk and Northallerton, 181 points Blackwell Grange, 150 points Crook.

Individual Prize winners 43 points Richardson/Sipling (Think and Northallerton) 42 points Fox/Barker (Think and Northallerton) 41 points Hughes/Jobson (Crook) and Doughty/Stalley (Catterick Garrison). With one more match at Blackwell Grange completing the Spring season it will be interesting to see if Thirsk amd Northallerton can achieve the top spot that they expressed their hopes for before the season commenced.
