POLICE were yesterday questioning a man after he threatened officers with a samurai sword.
Sergeant Matthew Millington said police had been called to a house at The Croft, in the Newby area of Scarborough, at about 7am yesterday and were confronted by the man brandishing the sword.
There was an hour-long siege as police tried to talk to the man, who was in his mid-twenties. An armed response team was put on stand-by.
