Seventeen-year-old Edwin Jowsey from Whitby has registered back-to-back wins at the beginning of the Formula 2.

First he won convincingly at Mallory Park and has now taken the chequered flag at Kirkistown, Northern Ireland.

This is only his second full season in motorsport. Edwin comfortably took the chequered flag at Kirkistown, Northern Ireland.

The race was a celebration of the track's 50th anniversary and he secured pole during the morning qualifying session, his only worry was a gear ratio problem.

Driving a Lotus 22 Formula 3 FJ, Edwin said: "I would have liked a lower second, but we didn't have one.

"It's a great feeling to win any race, but to come to Northern Ireland and win on this track, recording back-to-back wins feels extra special.

"I'd like to thank the sponsors, for finding extra finance for the travel expenses."

Edwin's father, Cliff said: "It was a fantastic opportunity to be invited to race at such a famous circuit were drivers such as James Hunt, Martin Donnelly, Eddie Irvine and Eddie Jordan once plied their trade."

There are still sponsorship opportunities available as Edwin is driving three cars this year. For more information go to www.edwinjowsey.com.
