B&H Kings Head 3 v 2 Thornaby Vill.: Kings Head followed up their 4-0 midweek win over Bull's Head with another three points but they were made to battle all the way by a Thornaby Village side that could very easily have taken a point from this game.

Brian Crawley gave the King's Head a tenth minute lead following good work from Gary Round but within two minutes it was all-square when Geoff Belt burst through the middle before scoring. King's Head had to wait till early in the second half before there lead was restored thanks to Tim Candell scrambling the ball home and when Crawley made it 3-1 from the penalty spot, the Village looked to be down and out. Belt however had other ideas and brought his side back into the game with ten minutes remaining and but for some good defending they might well have equalised in the dying moments of the game.

Thorn. Mandale FC 1 v 0 Coulby Newham LF

With the North Riding Cup under their belts, Mandale moved closer to the league title with a 3-2 success over the Woodman's Arms and Saturday's single goal win against Coulby Newham. With Mandale struggling to field full strength sides, they were grateful to see Steve Lambert's fortieth minute chip secure the points against a Coulby Newham side that kept the league leaders on their toes for the whole of the 90 minutes.

M'bro St Mary's C. 2 v 1 Stokesley SC

The College had the better of the opening 45 minutes but a solitary strike from Mark Elliott was all that they had to show for their efforts. Stokesley came more into the game after the break but they went further behind when Elliott crossed for Dave Aspery to head home. Fifteen minutes from time, Craig Johnson reduced the arrears when he side footed the ball home and this lifted the Stokesley side who were unlucky in the end not to take at least a point from the game.

NS Bulls Head FC 0 v 2 Redcar CO

In a closely-fought game, Redcar Coke Ovens did just enough to take the points with Darren Stephenson giving them the lead on forty minutes when he drove the ball home from fifteen yards out. Graham Watson added a second on the hour mark and although Bulls battled hard they could find a way through a well organised Coke Ovens rearguard.

Stock. Elementis 2 v 2 The Grenadier

Elementis picked up another valuable point thanks to a last minute equaliser from Neil Dillon. Two goals from Grenadier's Craig Bishop gave the visitors an excellent start and Mark Grosvenor reduced the deficit with a headed goal shortly before half time. Both sides had their chances in the second period but Elementis looked to have missed out until Dillon's late strike. Grosvenor was man of the match for Elementis while Andy Conway caught the eye in the Grenadier's midfield.

Woodmans Arms 6 v 2 Black Horse

Chris Mothersill opened the scoring for the Woodmans curling his shot into the net from twenty yards out before Paul Turner added a second before the break. John Mothersill kept the goals flowing when he scrambled the ball home on the hour and Paul Rowe added his name to the score sheet minutes later. A 35-yard thunderbolt from Ian Rogers was easily the pick of the goals in the game while John Mothersill wrapped up the scoring with his second of the game.

M'brough Post Office 2 v 1 Ennis Sq.

John Leach centred for David Mills to open the scoring in the 15th minute but despite their early advantage, Post Office failed to build on the breakthrough while Ennis gradually came back into the game after a shaky start. Indeed, but for some good saves by Post Office keeper Alan Wrigglesworth, they might well have equalised. In the event, the remaining goal action came very late in the game when Ken Dalton crossed for Paul Davies to head home a second goal for the Posties on ninety minutes and with almost the last kick of the game, Wayne Gent scored at the far post for Ennis.

Wilf Leader semi-final

South Bank Utd 3 v 1 North Skelton

In only their first season in the Stokesley League, South Bank United got through to the final of the Wilf Leader Trophy by defeating North Skelton 3-1. The first half was goalless although United should have taken the lead as early as the fifth minute when Terry Strange headed over the bar with the goal at his mercy. Early in the second half, Strange made amends when he scored from the penalty spot after Dave Larkin had been brought down and from then on United were always in the driving seat. Gary Naylor squared the ball for Larkin to score from close range following a Mark Jahan free kick and fifteen minutes from time Peter Truscott chipped the keeper from eighteen yards out. Five minutes from time, North Skelton managed to pull a goal back but United eased through to the final whistle and a cup final date with the Woodman's Arms.
