National Pet Week is being supported by Wilson's Veterinary Surgery, in Bishop Auckland, which is hosting the following programme of events:
Tomorrow - Pets for People, about working pets including guide dogs and pat dogs; Tuesday - Think Carefully Before Getting a Pet, to ensure suitability, and training; Wednesday - Provide nutrition and a balanced diet, including advice on adequate bedding; Thursday - worming, parasite control, protection against disease, vaccinations and dental care; Friday - neutering, grooming and prevention of unwanted litters; Saturday - micro-chipping and name tagging, with special offers available; Sunday, May 11, People for Pets, highlighting the work of charities, veterinary surgeons and welfare groups.
