EARLY birds are being invited to greet the dawn on guided walks from Durham Wildlife Trust reserves.
The events celebrate National Dawn Chorus Day and start tomorrow, at 4.30am, at Low Barns Nature Reserve, near Witton-le-Wear.
Dr Chris Spray will lead the walk and will help people to recognise bird songs during the dawn chorus.
Breakfast will follow in the Visitor Centre.
On Sunday, May 11, at the same time, Chris McCarty, of English Nature, will meet walkers at Bowlees Visitor Centre, Newbiggin, near Middleton-in-Teesdale. Breakfast is provided in the centre.
There is a charge of £3 for each event. For information and bookings telephone Low Barns on 0191-584-3112 or Bowlees on (01833) 622292.
