THE impact of environmental improvements to the River Tees on water and sewage bills will be the focus of a debate next week.
The Environment Agency and Northumbria Water will give presentations at the WaterVoice Northumbria meeting on Tuesday, when the costs and benefits resulting from a proposed environmental programme will be discussed.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Thistle Hotel, in Fry Street, Middlesbrough, at 10.45am.
Middlesbrough was chosen because the town is close to Bran Sands, a sewage treatment works on the south side of the Tees estuary.
It is within the Seal Sands area, a tidal mudflat which has conservation area status and will influence how environmental problems are resolved.
