COMPUTER game fans will soon have the chance to follow in the footsteps of Darlington pop princess Zoe Birkett.
A Pop Idol game for the PlayStation, based on the hit television show that made Darlington teenager Zoe a star is being launched in October.
The game, developed by UK company Codemasters, will allow players to create their own pop wannabes and teach them how to sing and dance.
The players can then enter the computer-generated Pop Idol set and try to get their performer into the final of the competition.
There is even a computer-generated Simon Cowell judge, complete with trademark insults.
Players make their performer sing and dance by matching the right combination of buttons to what is displayed on the screen.
If the combination is right, the contestant sings like Zoe and could even win the Pop Idol crown, but if wrong, they will be out of tune and could even fall over.
