Billingham Swimming Club competed in Middlesbrough at the weekend gathering an abundance of medals with three gold, eight silver, three bronze, five 4th place, six 5th place and six 6th place being achieved.

Out of 92 swims 69 personal bests were claimed. Those collecting medals were:

Nine-year-old Josh Trewin in his first graded gala swam brilliantly to achieve 4th place in the 50m breast his other swims being 100mI.M. and 50m back and free.

Ten-year-old Stephanie Blakeburn with outstanding performances claimed gold in the 50m free, silver in the 200m free and 50m back, fifth in the 100m IM, two six places in the 50m fly and back her other swim was 50m breast.

Two 11-year-olds with medals both with terrific swims were Gareth Allen coming 4th in the 50m fly and 5th in the 200m free, his other swims being 100m IM and 50m breast and free. Joseph Sibery claimed 4th place in the 50m free and swam in the 100m IM.

Thirteen-year-old Bradley Dixon was tremendous with silver in the 50m fly, bronze in the 100m IM, fourth in the 50m back and free and 6th in the 50m breast.

Four 14-year-olds all with superb swims Joanne Longster with a gold in the 200m free, 5th place in both the 100m IM and fly, her other swims were 50 free and back. Lisa Sheehan claiming her first medal came 4th in the 200m free, her other swims were 100m IM and 50m back and fly. Liam Sutheran in the 50m fly picked up a bronze medal. Stephen Cook was 6th in the 50m breast and swam 200m free and 50m fly.

Three 15-year-olds with medals were Phil Grounds having an exceptional performance with gold in the 50m fly, silver in the 50m back and 100m IM and bronze in the 200m free. Two girls both with great swims were Emma Wilson with a bronze in the 200m free, 4th in the 50m free, fifth in both the 50m fly and back. Jane Usher with a silver in the 50m back, fourth in the 100m IM 5th in the 50m breast and sixth in the 50m free.

Other Billingham swimmers competing all had good solid swims many with excellent PBs they were:
