Bradford City: The Bantams will close if the landlord of Valley Parade does not allow the club to play at the ground rent free next season. That is themessage from Kroll, the administrators of the League One club, who are due to face Pool on the opening day of the season and have been in discussions with the Gibb Pension Fund responsible for the ground.

The administrators have given the landlord until 5pm tomorrow to respond with a positive answer, or club will be forced to out of business.

"We have submitted a request to play rent free at Valley Parade for the whole of the season,'' a spokesman from Kroll said. We have been in talks for several weeks, but we need a formal answer, otherwise the club will face closure.''
