THE trial of a man charged with harassing a woman and breaching a restraining order on him has been postponed after he fell ill.

Peter Robinson had been due to face trial over the charges at Teesside Crown Court, but was said to be too poorly to attend. A letter was handed into the court from Mr Robinson's mother who said he suffered from insulin dependent diabetes.

Mr Robinson, 36, of Thirsk Road, Easingwold, North Yorkshire, is alleged to have followed Mandy Groves in his car, made threatening gestures against her and sought her out at her home.

He is also accused of twice breaching a restraining order imposed on him by magistrates in respect of Ms Groves.

Mr Robinson denies one charge of harassment and two of breaching the order.

Judge Tony Briggs adjourned the trial for six weeks. Bail was renewed.
