A SUPERMARKET has celebrated its 25th birthday with five members of staff who have worked at the store since it opened.
Morrisons opened in North Road, Darlington, on March 25, 1980.
Staff marked the occasion by sharing a commemorative cake, decorated in the store's colours of black and yellow.
The five members of staff who have been at the store for 25 years are Carmel Smith, Phil Littlefair, Vicky Knight, Sue Fox and Linda Denam. Peter Wittering, the store's general manager, said: "Everyone at the store is delighted to be able to celebrate 25 years of trading.
"It is incredible we have five members of staff who have been here since the day one."
