Newton Aycliffe man assaulted on Bishop Auckland industrial estate

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault which left a man needing continual treatment for facial injuries.

An employee at a car lot on the Abrahams Enterprise Park, in Bishop Auckland, was approached by another man at around noon on Saturday February 27.

The assailant, who was wearing light grey clothing with a hood, then struck him on the face causing injuries to his mouth and teeth before running off towards the A688.

The 34-year-old victim, from the Newton Aycliffe area, attended Darlington Memorial Hospital and requires further treatment in relation to the damage to his teeth.

Police are urging anyone in the area at the time who saw either the attack or the attacker making off to contact Bishop Auckland CID on 0345-60-60-365 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
