BRITISH Airways flights from Newcastle will be affected by this weekend's planned strike action.
Newcastle International Airport has learned that its six daily flights with British Airways from Newcastle to London Heathrow will be cancelled between March 20 and March 22.
The only flight still scheduled to operate over the three-day period is the BA1321 6.20am departure to Heathrow on Saturday, March 20.
The airport’s chief executive, Dave Laws, said: “We are obviously extremely disappointed that critical services linking the region to Heathrow will not be operating for the first three days of the planned strike action.
"Thousands of passengers rely on these flights each week, whether they have business commitments in London or are flying for work or leisure to onward destinations connecting out of Heathrow.
“We have great sympathy for those passengers who will be adversely affected by the strike.
"Fortunately, two of our other airline partners provide excellent daily services to London; Flybe to Gatwick four times a day, and easyJet to Stansted twice a day.
"Both Gatwick and Stansted airports offer efficient transport links to Heathrow for those customers who have onward flights to connect with.”
