Man dies after pub attack


A MAN has died after being attacked outside a pub.

The 33-year-old was found outside the Bay Horse Pub in Dinnington, Newcastle, last night.

Police believe he was attacked and then struck by a car.

A police spokewoman said: "At 10.43pm Monday March 15 police received reports of a distubrance outside the Bay Horse public house.

"Officers attended the scene and a 33 year old man was found suffering from serious head injury."

The victim was taken to Newcastle General Hospital and subsequently died.

Enquiries are still at an early stage however police believe the victim had been assaulted before being stuck by car.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH A 23-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Both are currently being interviewed by police.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Potts said: "Enquries into this incident are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who witnessed or who has information on this incident to come forward as they may be able to assist with this investigation."
