Former husband is charged with murder of Marske 'divorce party' woman

THE former husband of a woman stabbed to death as she prepared to hold a divorce party appeared in court this morning.

Brian Anthony Jones, 63, of Thrushwood Crescent, Marske, east Cleveland, was charged with the murder of Katrina Jones, 34, at her home at about 3pm on Friday afternoon.

He appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court and spoke only to confirm his name and address. No plea was entered and no application for bail was made.

Police were called to Mrs Jones' house in Church Close, Marske, following reports of a disturbance.

That same day, the couple's divorce, after nine years of marriage was due to become final and a neighbour said Mrs Jones was preparing to hold a party celebrating her legal seperation from her former husband, said to be a doorman at a Yarm nightclub.
