A MAN is facing a life sentence after today admitting the murder of a fellow resident at a North-East bail hostel.
Kelvin Benson, 25, pleaded guilty to killing 24-year-old Mark Bradshaw after a row the property in Stockton.
Two other people charged with Mr Bradshaw’s murder did not enter pleas at the Teesside Crown Court hearing.
Leanne Steanson, 25, of The Avenue, Chester-le-Street, and Sean McGovern, 17, of Edwards Street, Stockton, are expected to stand trial towards the end of the year.
All three were remanded in custody by the Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Peter Fox, QC.
He told Benson: “You know in due course the only sentence that this court will pass upon you is a life sentence.”
Mr Bradshaw was found with stab wounds behind the bail hostel in Edwards Street on the night of March 26.
He had been staying at the hostel since September, having previously lived with his father and brother in Wheatley Hill, County Durham.
Mr Bradshaw died in James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, on April 2 after a week-long fight for life.
