POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road accident in which a motorcyclist died in North Yorkshire this morning.

The collision happened at the A59 York Road junction with the A168 - next to the A1(M) Knaresborough junction.

Officers are particularly keen to trace witnesses who might have seen the accident which involved a black Mitsubishi L200 pick-up and two motorcycles, a black BMW and a black Suzuki.

No further details about the fatal accident have been released but a police spokesman said one man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
