Crash at Angel causes delays

A CRASH near a North East landmark this morning caused delays on a major road.
An Audi and a Citroen were involved in an accident on the A1 northbound near The Angel of the North at Gateshead at about 11.49am.
No details have been released about injuries to those in the two cars, but police, paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene.
The northbound carriageway of the A1 is currently blocked but the southbound carriageway remains open.
