SINGER Susan Boyle last night showed the North-East why she has taken the world by storm as she wowed a sell-out crowd.
The Scottish singer, runner-up in this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, overcame the exhaustion that resulted in her admission to The Priory clinic to perform at the Metro Arena, in Newcastle.
Taking part in the national Britain’s Got Talent tour, she sang two songs from the musicals – Memory, from Cats, and I Dreamed A Dream, from Les Miserables.
She has gained international fame, and has become a star in the US through appearances on shows such as Oprah Winfrey.
She is now set to sign a multi-million-pound record deal with Simon Cowell’s BMG record label.
Also performing last night were dance troupe Diversity, the shock winners of the series, and other runners-up including ten-year-old Hollie Steel, who broke down in tears live on television during her semi-final performance.
