PLACES are up for grabs on a series of football coach courses to be held in Hartlepool.
Three introductory courses, beginning on February 25, May 6 (female only) and September 9, have been organised by the Councils Football Development Programme in partnership with Durham FA.
It is hoped they will result in an influx of new coaches who will be able to support on-going efforts to promote and develop football across the town Steve Middlemiss, the Councils football development officer, said: We have already got a lot of talented football coaches, both young and old, and we want to build on their expertise.
Previous experience would help, but its not essential. You just have to have enthusiasm for the game and a willingness to learn new skills.
Each course will run for five weeks at Grayfields Recreation Ground and sessions will take place twice a week on evenings, each lasting three hours.
Each course costs 110 or 80 if you are connected to a Charter Standard club.
The courses are open to anyone over the age of 16, and there are 24 places on each course.
