CHILDREN have raised more than £700 for a hospice during a school fun day.
Youngsters from The Chorister School, Durham, wore fancy dress and took part in a range of activities and competitions, in aid of St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham.
Among the costumes on display were superheroes, cybermen, Moses, and the angel Gabriel.
Pupils Hannah Swainston, 12, and Tommy Bell, six, handed the money collected to Hospice fundraiser Caroline Broadfoot.
Mrs Broadfoot said: “It is a fantastic donation. We are very grateful. Clearly, a lot of effort and thought went into the costumes and competitions.”
One of the highlights of the fun day was an X Factorstyle talent show, won by JJJ. Sylvan Spears came second, with the Jellybabies third.
The Chorister School also recently supported the hospice’s Light up a Life appeal service at Durham Cathedral.
Mrs Broadfoot said: “The school has a long history of supporting the hospice and we are delighted that the Galilee Choir come back each year and join us in this very special service.”
St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides care for people with life-limiting illnesses.
