The man was found in a downstairs room and had suffered serious head injuries.

I realise the police have a job to do but is it actually necessary to cordon off an entire street and two lanes when a body is discovered in a house? This never used to happen in the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s so why now? It disrupts many people's lives for what seems no advantage for the police in their investigation. Do they do it simply because like so much these days they have the power to do it?

rossco, you're an utter fool. The area's sealed off and forensically searched until such a time as it's deemed clear to reopen. Areas were always cordoned off when dealing with such incidents, even back in the times you mentioned. Forensic advances have lead to a greater detection rate and as such, a requirement to such a larger area in the hope of finding a vital piece of evidence.
How awful that you should be inconvienienced when someone's son, brother, friend or relative has died in suspicious circumstances. I guarantee that were the same to happen to a member of your family, you'd want the police to do everything in their power to find those responsible. Idiot

if we have a killer here then they had to leave the house and i guess this is why they surround the house and streets around to see if thye might find a weapon or other clues.

Rossco - Bid Dave says it all. This is a possible murder or manslaughter. Its unbelievable that you can think like this. You should be ashamed.

I understood this forum did not allow abusive posts.
The reason I asked the question is I have been past the area four times and have yet to see any sign of any forensic teams working in any of the sealed off streets. And no they did not seal off entire streets in previous decades. At most it would be the property concerned.

i live in forster street and think the street should be closed off! the person responsable needs to be found.
the police have a job to do and we should let them get on with it.

Sorry they're not working to your liking rossco. Perhaps next time, any serious incidents could be arranged around your schedule so as to minimise disruption

my family live next door to the house in question as have i in the past, as we dont know yet the name of the man that was found dead i dontnt feel rite to say much at this time, all i will say is that rossco must of had his eyes closed when he was walking past as when i went to the house earlier today i had to be escorted to the door so that i wouldnt disturb the crime scene officers or contaminate any area that hadnt yet been searched.
