THE body of a diver missing for almost two weeks has been found in a wreck in Malta.
Paul Swain, from Billingham, went missing during a diving expedition on October 27.
A search was launched immediately, but called off two days later.
His body was found earlier today in the wreck of the MV Xlendi on the island of Gozo.
He and nine others from the Sub Aqua Sports Association, based in South Hetton, County Durham, had been exploring the wreck, an old ferry which has been turned into a diving attraction.
Mr Swain's body was found by divers and volunteers of the Civil Protection Department.
Earlier this week the 49-year-old’s devastated family told The Northern Echo that they were living in limbo, and could not move on until his body was recovered.
