A TAXI driver has been left shaken after he was robbed of his car at knife point in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened on the Red Hall Estate, in Darlington after the driver picked up a man outside the Turks Head pub in the town centre.
Police say the driver was threatened at knife point on the Red Hall estate and his red Skoda Octavia was taken.
The vehicle's tracking device was activated and a 27-year-old man was arrested in Yarm Road, Stockton, at around 2.20am.
A spokesman for Cleveland Poilice said: "The stolen car had activated the Automatic Number Plat Recognition System and the 27-year-old driver was swiftly arrested."
The taxi driver was unhurt in the incident.
