SIX illegal immigrants were arrested this afternoon after cutting their way out of a truck.

They jumped out of the HGV's trailer, parked on the Stephenson Industrial Estate, Usworth, Washington, shortly after 3.20pm.

After a short search by officers the three women and three men, aged between 20 and 32-years old, were caught nearby.

The six, from Eritrea in Africa, had cut their way through the curtain sides of the trailer.

Police said last night that it is not yet known where they boarded the trailer or whether the driver knew of their presence.

so funny. YOu tax payers pay for aid money that keeps the dictators in power in Africa then you start crying when asylum seekers arrive. Why dont you ask your goverment to stop using your money to shore up dictators in africa? What more can i say? let SIR Mugabe tell you the rest. He, like Issayas is a dicatator mollycoddled by your tax money when first coming to power.
