DANNY Wilsonfs threatened shake-up of his Hartlepool United squad failed to materialise yesterday.
The Victoria Park boss has, in recent weeks, told of his desire to reshape the squad after they remained in League One this season.
Joel Porter was named among the players expected to stay, after the club exercised an option on his current deal.
Wilson freed six yesterday, and none of them were regulars in his side, while Godwin Antwi has returned to Liverpool following a season-long loan spell at Victoria Park.
Robbie Elliott, Ali Gibb, Stephen Turnbull, Tom Haigh, Scott Allison and Michael Rae wonft be offered new deals.
Those the club want to keep after exercising contract options are Willie Boland, Joel Porter, Andy Monkhouse, Michael Mackay, James Brown, Gary Liddle, Micky Nelson, Matty Robson and Martin Young. How many are still at Victoria Park come the start of the new season on August 9 remain to be seen, but the club has stated its intentions by offering new terms.
David Foley has been offered a new deal, while Micky Barronfs playing career is now officially over and he will sign a new contract after taking up the youth team managerfs post.
Ritchie Humphreys, Ben Clark and Antony Sweeney have all recently signed new contracts.
Ex-Pools goalkeeper Jim Provett has been released by Bury, while Chris Llewellyn has suffered the same fate at relegated Wrexham, who have transfer- listed Michael Proctor and Antony Williams.
