DARLINGTON manager Dave Penney was last night full of praise for Polish keeper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak after an impressive debut at the weekend.
A string of Kazimierczak saves helped keep Quakers' first clean sheet in five games after replacing the injured David Stockdale early in the win at Peterborough United.
Stockdale is expects to recover in time from his bruised foot to play in Saturday's play-off semi-final first leg at home to Rochdale, tickets for which go on sale today.
But Kazimierczak proved he would be an able stand-in.
"Przemyslaw was excellent when he came on," said Penney who considered resting Stockdale at London Road.
"His match fitness might not be there because there haven't been that many reserve games for him to play, but he did well and kept a clean sheet."
"I'd thought about leaving Stocky out of the side in case he got injured.
"You're usually alright with a goalkeeper, they don't normally get injured that often but it's typical of the way things are going for us. We left Steve Foster and Tommy Wright on the bench so there was no chance of them getting injured."

There is be no priority for season ticket holders, who are asked to purchase their tickets as early as possible.
Quakers say every effort will be made to enable season ticket holders can secure their own seat.
Grahame McDonnell, commercial director, said: "We only have a few days before the game so it would not be practical to give season ticket holders time to purchase their tickets before they go on general sale. However, the ticket office will have a system in place to allow them to purchase their own seats.
"We ask supporters to buy tickets to avoid queues. This is the most important game for a few seasons and we hope the town will get behind the team."
Prices are £15 for adults, concessions £10, children aged 10-16 £6 and under-10s free.
Tickets purchased on match day are £1 dearer.
The ticket office is open 9am- 6pm today to Friday and 9am until the 5.35pm kick-off on Saturday. Telephone bookings can be made on 0871 855 1883.
The club are requesting supporters travel via the shuttle bus that runs from Tubwell Row every 30 minutes.
Those with car park tickets need to have them on display.
