A 17-year-old boy biker is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash in Ashton-in-Makefield.
The boy was riding a friend's 125cc moped outside the Eagle and Child pub on Heath Road, shortly after 9.30pm last night when he lost control of the machine and fell off.
He suffered a serious head injury in the collision and was taken to Royal Albert Edward Infirmary at Wigan, but was later transferred to the Neurological Department at Hope Hospital, Salford, where his condition is currently described as serious.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The junctions of Mill Lane and Lincoln Drive at Ashton Heath were closed, but have now re-opened.
