Police seize vehicles in hit'n run investigation

POLICE investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a cyclist was killed have seized a number of vehicles.

Paul Brady, 23, of Lumley Road, Durham, sustained fatal injuries in an accident on the northbound carriageway of the A19, on Friday, January 18.

Northumbria Police believe he was hit by a heavy goods vehicle 400m north of the Silverlink roundabout, in North Tyneside, at about 7.50am.

Yesterday (MON), a spokesman for the force said: "A number of vehicles have been seized and forensic tests are currently being carried out."

He also confirmed that other enquiries are continuing.

Mr Brady, a Cambridge University graduate and former pupil of St Leonard's RC Comprehensive School, in Durham, was cycling to work at George Stephenson High School, on North Tyneside, when he was killed.
