FULL details of the annual Jorvik Viking Festival have been announced.
This year's event will take place in York, from February 13 to 17.
It will feature more than 100 arts, music, drama and action events, together with contributions from guests, including television presenter and historian, Dan Snow.
There will be weaponry on show that was used in Hollywood films, battle displays, and the opportunity to make Viking arts and crafts.
The city-wide celebration of the Viking age in York annually attracts more than 40,000 visitors. Events will include a Viking arts fair, from 10am to 4pm, on February 14 in St Sampson's Square; a combat day with theatrical make-up sessions and talks about arms, in Coppergate and St Sampson's Square, from 10am to 4pm on February 15; and an evening battle light-and-sound spectacular at 6.15pm on February 16 at the Eye of York.
Full details of the five-day programme, including booking information and admission charges are available at www.jorvik-viking-centre.com, or by calling the information line on 01904-643211.
