Newport Bridge closed due to lorry on fire Picture: CLEVELAND POLICE
NEWPORT Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to a lorry being on fire.
Officers from Cleveland Police and firefighters at Cleveland Fire Brigade are at the scene and the bridge, in Middlesbrough, is expected to be closed for some time.
No one is injured.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Thank you for your patience whilst we deal with the incident."
