A VEHICLE collided with the central reservation in a rush-hour crash on the A1(M).
Durham Police said it appeared control of the vehicle was lost before it hit the central reservation and came to a halt in the middle of the lane this morning.
Officers were alerted at 8.35am by County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service to the incident on the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) between junctions 59 (Newton Aycliffe) and 60 (Bradbury).
The male driver of the vehicle was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
One lane was closed until about 9.35am during which time traffic backed up to junction 58 (Burtree).
