LEE CATTERMOLE returns to Sunderland's starting line-up for this afternoon's home game with Scunthorpe United.
Jack Ross has made a host of changes to the side that started Thursday's Carabao Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, but there is only alteration to the line-up that kicked off last weekend's league draw with Luton Town.
That switch sees Cattermole recalled in place of Bali Mumba, with the teenage midfielder dropping down to the substitutes' bench.
Cattermole's proposed move to Bordeaux collapsed last week, and will not be resurrected following Gus Poyet's dismissal from the Ligue 1 club.
As a result, Cattermole's future appears to be with Sunderland, and Ross is clearly keen to have the Teessider in his first-choice side.

SCUNTHORPE (4-5-1): Watson; Clarke, Burgess, Perch, Butroid; Lund, Morris, Dales, Thomas, Goode; Novak.
