Health group
GOLD (Growing Older Living in Darlington) hosts a health group every first Monday of the month at the Havelock Street Community Centre from 10.15am. There is usually a health related speaker to begin the meeting, after which members of the group are invited to share their views and ask questions of the speaker.
Lecture season
THE Darlington Lecture Association will begin its new season of talks on Monday, September 3 with Iceland: The Land of Geysers and Gyrs. It will be heard at Carmel College from 7.30pm. Membership is £25 but visitors can be admitted for £5. For more information, call 01325 363350.
Coffee morning
A MACMILLAN coffee morning will take place next month at Hurworth Village Hall. On Saturday, September 29 there will be a variety of stalls at the hall, including cakes, refreshments and a tombola. There will also be a raffle with prizes including a tour of the Riverside Stadium, a free MOT, one entry to Diggerland and High Street vouchers. The event will run from 10am until it is sold out.
Super toddle
YOUNGSTERS are being urged to dress up for the Superheroes Toddle, which allows families to a stroll around South Park whilst raising money for St Teresa’s Hospice.
