A VETERANS charity hopes its new base will boost the number of people accessing its services.
Sporting Force is currently located on Aycliffe Business Park, in Newton Aycliffe, but will begin operating out of new premises in Darlington town centre on September 3.
The charity has been helping ex-service personnel get back into employment within the professional sports industry since launching in 2015.
Jacqui Nicholson, operations manager, said it would be business as usual for the team, adding: “The idea is being in the town centre we will get more footfall.”
It is hoped a new veterans breakfast club will start from its base above Mountain Warehouse, on High Row, but will run on a different day to the town’s current Saturday club at the White Horse.
Founded by veteran Tommy Lowther, the charity started life at Bishop Auckland College before moving to Newton Aycliffe in December. For details call 01325-741716.
