A NEW bobby has joined the Barnard Castle beat team.
Barnard Castle Neighbourhood Policing Team has welcomed PC Mark Gilchrist.
PC Gilchrist spent almost 12 years responding to 999 emergencies before he joined the team where he tackled community concerns.
The keen rugby player and family man said: “I love engaging with people and the community, having already met lots of the Barnard Castle and Teesdale residents, I’ve received a warm and refreshing welcome. I look forward to meeting many more of you and working with our partner agencies in maintaining what appears to be a safe, pleasant place to live and work. You will see me regularly out on foot patrol around the town so please stop and say hello.”
Teesdale, Weardale and Crook inspector Edward Turner said he was delighted to welcome PC Gilchrist.
