Rural crafts

A COUNTRYSIDE crafts weekend is running at the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole this weekend. Visitors will be able to see a variety of rural crafts in action and to watch and learn as demonstrators exhibit traditional countryside skills. Admission is £7.95 adults and £6.95 for children.

Veterans call

THE next drop-in session for Ripon veterans and their dependants will be on September 6 from 10am to noon at the RAFA Club on Kirkgate. The sessions are run by the Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee which works to monitor how effectively the intent of the Armed Forces Covenant is being delivered.

Music fun

THE New Jersey Beat Boys will perform live on stage at The Forum in Northallerton on Friday, August 17. The show starts at 7.30pm.

Lifeboat funds

STAITHES and Runswick RNLI enjoyed a hugely successful Lifeboat Weekend raising more than £14,000 for the lifesaving charity with an estimated 3,000 visitors descending on the two villages over the three day celebrations.

Classic cars

CROPTON’S annual classic car and motor cycle rally is being held in the grounds of the village hall on Sunday from 10.30am. Admission is free. In addition to the vehicles there will be bric-a-brac stalls, books and a raffle. A variety of cakes will be on offer with tea and coffee.

Concert date

A SUNDAY Promenade Concert will be performed by Northallerton Silver Band at Kiplin Hall and Gardens in Scorton this weekend. The band will be at the gardens throughout Sunday and normal admission charges apply.

Village show

THE annual Middleton village show will be held in the village hall on Sunday. It will be followed with a barbecue and live music.
