RUNNERS will get the chance to take in stunning views across the North-East this weekend with a special event.

The SABIC Eston Nab Challenge Race takes place on Saturday at 10am with a 5km and 10km race pushing runners to the limit as they scale the Eston hills, working their way up to the Nab at the very top.

The event will also be packed with market stalls, food stalls and free family fun for the whole of the village.

Cllr Bob Norton, co-chair of the organising committee, said: “After more than a year of planning, I can hardly believe it’s here.

“We’ve been working really hard to bring this race to Eston and I’m sure we’re going to have a wonderful day.

“I hope lots of people come out to cheer on the runners and enjoy the event village.”

Cllr Ann Higgins, co-chair of the organising committee, said: “The event village will be a lot of fun.

"Our local history is very important to us and I hope those visiting Eston for the Nab will take the time to learn a little about our town."
