PLANS are well underway for next weekend’s "medieval encampment" in Northallerton.

The encampment takes place on the on the site of the former Allertonshire School in Northallerton on August 18 and 19 from 10am to 5pm – limited parking will be available.
The day-long event will allow visitors to able to experience the sights, sounds and smells of Northallerton as it might have been in 1138 when the battle took place on on Cowton Moor to the north of the town.
It is sponsored by Hambleton District Council in partnership with several other local organisations.
