MOTORISTS have the opportunity to have the safety of their car seats checked.
Experts will be on hand tomorrow, outside Mothercare at Teesside Shopping Park, between 11am to 4pm, to offer parents and carers advice and free checks.
Stockton Borough Council’s road safety team has joined forces with Middlesbrough Council and Good Egg Car Safety to help residents be sure of the suitability and safe fitting of their child restraints.
Councillor Mike Smith, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Every parent or carer wants to be assured that they have fitted a car seat correctly so this is a great opportunity to get first-hand advice from the experts.
“Fitting a car seat isn’t a simple business and mistakes are common and easy to make. To avoid any uncertainty, I’d encourage anyone unsure to come down to the event this week and be satisfied that their child’s seat is fitted safely.”
