A SUNDERLAND teenager is vying with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Christian Eriksen for the honour of scoring the UEFA Goal of the Season.

Elliot Embleton, 19, netted in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship group stage game between England and Turkey in July.

The game finished 3-2 to England with Durham-born Embleton's goal being described as a 'powerfully and accurately struck left-footed finish' by UEFA's technical observers.

Also on the list is Berwick-born Lucy Bronze who is shortlisted for her goal for Lyon against Manchester City in the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finals in April.

The deadline for votes is Monday, August 27 with the winning strike to be revealed later that day and you can vote for your favourite via http://gots.uefa.com/#/en/
