Tax clampdown

POLICE in Spennymoor joined forces with DVLA officers for an operation clamping down on untaxed roads after concerns were raised by residents. Eight vehicles were clamped and three vehicle owners received an £80 fine.

Mystery night

BISHOP Auckland and Coundon in Bloom will hold a murder mystery night at Bishop Auckland Golf Club on Friday, September 21, from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets are £12.50 and include a pie and pea supper plus entertainment, proceeds in aid of the group and its environmental and community projects. Film club

UPPER Weardale Cinema Club shows films at St John’s Chapel Town Hall on the first and third Friday of the month, at 6pm for children and families and at 7.30pm, 7.45pm or 8pm for older children and adults.
