A DOG rescue centre and a hospice benefited from the proceeds of a showhome furniture auction.
Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire raised more than £1,100 for the Dogs Trust and for the Butterwick Hospice, in Bishop Auckland by auctioning off furniture, paintings and decorations from its Millfields show homes.
As well as the cash boost, the homebuilder also donated a van full of furnishings to Forces Support, in Darlington.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “We wanted to give the money and items to worthy causes to support their commitment to helping others – it was something we were only too happy to do.”
Ms Whittingham added that the company was always keen to support causes in the communities it works in.
