A PLAYFUL young Staffordshire bull terrier is looking for her forever home - after being cruelly abandoned on Boxing Day with a broken leg.

Eighteen-month-old Tilly was taken to a vets in York just after Christmas after being found with bad injuries to her leg.

Three operations later and her leg has now healed and she is ready to be rehomed.

She has spent almost half of her young life in foster care in Harrogate via the RSPCA York, Harrogate and District branch and now she wants a home to call her own.

Nic Willis, branch outreach manager, said: “Tilly was not in a good way when she came into our care and was very lucky not to lose her leg altogether. She is a gorgeous, sweet girl who just loves attention and loves other dogs.

“She’s is a typical young staffy. She is full of energy and very playful. As she is still young and still learning, she will need an owner who can continue with her basic training.

“She could live with a compatible dog after a successful introduction and children of secondary school age and over.

“She really deserves her second chance and we are hoping that someone will give her a fur-ever home soon.”

If you are interested in giving Tilly a home contact the branch on 01904 654949.
