TWO young hairdressers in training have won prizes for their work.
Nicholas Greeves, 17, from Durham and Caitlin Pollard, 19, from Brandon, were first and third in the competition run by training provider BL Hairdressing.
They both work at Janet Maitland Hair Excellence.
Nicholas, who works at the Gilesgate salon was first. He said: “Hairdressing is so diverse and exciting, I just love the creativity of my job.”
Caitlin, who works in Bowburn, added: “I’m still buzzing from the feeling of winning an award.”
Janet Maitland said: “I am delighted for Nick and Caitlin. They are amazing students, always so full of excellent ideas and both have a keen eye for detail. They produce beautiful looks and I know they’ll go a really long way in this industry.”
The young hairdressers styled their models before photographs were taken and judged by celebrity stylist Charley McEwan at an event in London
More than 60 hairdressing students, juniors and apprentices took part.
