Town meeting

A SPECIAL meeting of Sedgefield Town Council will be held in the Council Offices at 6pm on Monday, August 13. Items on the agenda include an update report on the central town green issues and consideration of revised licence variation applications by The Pickled Parson and The Corner House.

Folk music

IRISH folk singer Ann Breen will appear at Crook Cricket Club on Thursday, September 13, doors open at 7pm for a 7.45pm/8pm start. A raffle will be held at the interval in support of the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Hospital help

A LADIES luncheon in aid of Weardale Community Hospital will be held at Wolsingham Show Ground starting at 1pm on Friday, August 31. There will be a guest speaker, demonstrator and entertainment. Seaside day

ST James’ Church, in Coundon, will hold its St James’ Seaside Sunday Fair from 2pm until 4pm on Sunday, August 12. There will be a variety of stalls and games for children. A prize will be given to the best seaside costume. The fair will be held in the church grounds or will move inside in the event of bad weather. Proceeds are in aid of church funds.

Dance night

A DANCE featuring music from Michael Foxcroft will be held at Shildon Railway Institute from 8pm until 10.30pm on Friday, August 17. Admission is £3.

Club event
