CHILDREN can travel on buses for as little as 10p this summer.

Stagecoach North East reduces travel costs for children under 16 throughout the school holidays –and this summer its offer for families in Hartlepool and Teesside is to visit events and attractions with tickets priced at 10p.

It is part of an effort to encourage families, children and teens to highlight attractions in the area during the summer holiday and to promote public transport.

The offer, which allows up to two children under 16 to travel for 10p each when accompanied by an adult ticket holder, or up to four children under five to go free, is valid until September 2.

Nathan Stanislawski, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Teesside depot, said: “The 10p children’s ticket is always popular as it allows the younger and older generations to spend time together as families and explore the many great places and spaces within our community. With this exceptionally great weather we are having, now is the time to leave the car at home, pack a picnic or enjoy fish and chips and save money while keeping the kids entertained this summer.

“This promotion provides families with a great incentive to make the most of public transport, whether it is to meet up with friends or experience the many places of interest.”
